Riesling auction and presentation of the Grand Crus
Every year, the members of the Bernkasteler Ring auction selected wines at the Riesling auction. Wine lovers from all over the world take advantage of the unique opportunity to bid on top wines from the current vintage as well as selected creations and rarities.
The next auction & presentation of the Grand Crus will take place on September 16, 2023 in the IHK Conference Center in Trier.
Anyone can bid, whether they are a retailer, restaurateur or private individual. Important : The transaction is handled by recognized -> commission agents .
Only the authorized commission agents are allowed to bid directly at the event. The Fries winery is offering a lot of 480 bottles of Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Großes Gewächs, vintage 2022, for auction. The commission agents accept bids and collect them. You can therefore choose your bids freely (1 bottle or up to 480 bottles).
Before the auction, you pass on the bottles you want, along with your maximum bid, to the commission agents. You can submit this in writing to us or to one of the registered commission agents up to one day before the auction. You can also register for online access and thus have the opportunity to interact during the auction. But the best thing is to be there in person: you can not only taste each individual wine, but you can also sit together at the commission agent's table.
The auction will be broadcast live over the Internet.
The best thing to do is to use this form and we will pass it on to one of the commission agents. State the number of bottles you want and your maximum bid. You can of course also stagger this. The minimum bid is 18 EUR / 0.75 bottle.
For example :
24 bottles up to 30 EUR
12 bottles up to 45 EUR
6 bottles up to 60 EUR
1 bottle without limit.

The auction has a very long tradition and the Bernkasteler Ring is considered to be the oldest auction ring. All bottles are given a seal after the auction and can only be shipped then. Collection from the winery is possible.
